Comptroller scolds former Revenue chief

In a recent letter sent to legislative leaders, the state Comptroller called into question the use of “tax variances” by former Dept. of Revenue commissioner Reagan Farr. As noted by Tennessee Watchdog, the commissioner appears to have used his authority to change certain companies’ tax bills in exchange for their promise to invest in economic development in the state.
