QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTIONS FROM IRAS

Are you looking for a way to make a big difference to help further the mission of the Beacon Center?

If so, and you are 70½ or older you may be interested in learning more about making Qualified Charitable Distributions directly from your IRA.

Making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA to satisfy the Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) allows people age 70½ and older to reduce their taxable income by making a gift directly to a charitable organization from their IRA.

Note: The SECURE Act increased the MRD (Minimum Required Distribution) age from 72 to 73 in 2023. The age for a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), however, still remains at 70½.

Benefits of making a donation via your IRA:

• Avoid taxes on transfers of up to $100,000 from your IRA to the Beacon Center
• Satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year
• Reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions
• Make a gift that is not subject to the deduction limits on charitable gifts
• Help further the work and mission of the Beacon Center

How a QCD gift works:

1 - Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to the Beacon Center.
2 - Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to the Beacon Center to help continue our important work.
3 - Please note that IRA qualified charitable distribution gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction.
4 - Please contact us if you wish for your gift to be used for a specific purpose.
