TCPR becomes the Beacon Center of Tennessee

September 21, 2011 9:50AM
Friends, First, let me thank you for being such an avid supporter of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. Our many successes are due in large part to your dedication to our mission. Because you are integral to our achievement, I wanted to share some exciting news with you. We at TCPR have recently put a great deal of thought into our mission and our ability to change lives through public policy. This is undoubtedly one of the most important times in our lives to stand strong in defense of free markets, individual liberty, and limited government, when all three are under attack from numerous directions. Also, we have shown from our recent victories in obtaining lawsuit abuse reform, repealing collective bargaining by unions, and protecting Tennesseans’ healthcare rights, that TCPR can lead the way to make Tennessee the freest, most prosperous state in the nation. As the state’s leading advocate for freedom and prosperity, we realized that we needed to better explain our role and how our work positively affects the lives and pocketbooks of Tennesseans. Today, we will publicly announce that we are changing our name to the Beacon Center of Tennessee. Our rejuvenated mission will be to light the way for freedom and prosperity across our state. We will tell the personal stories of Tennesseans from Mountain City to Memphis, shining light on government policy and showing how it impacts Tennesseans from all walks of life. With this new name and new brand, we can truly change lives by advocating sound public policy at the state and local level. We hope you will join us in this important fight, because there is too much at stake to sit idly by on the sidelines. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call me. I would love to hear from you and get your take on our new, revitalized mission and message. Again, thank you for your continued dedication to our cause. In Liberty,   Justin Owen President & CEO
